When did you last write/receive a handwritten, snail-mail letter? Who was it to/from?
Submitted by Places Unknown.
Well, since I received it, it was to me. It was from my high school friend, SI. She lives in Montana and has the most beautiful handwriting. Precise, perfect; just like we were taught to write. She was the one who forged excuse notes from our parents when we cut school. She and our friend MG, who is now in Ohio, cut school all the time. Me? Just once. May 12th, my freshman year. We all went to the beach and I came home with a terrible sunburn on the back of my legs. I was suspended for half a day; MG and SI for a week. SI's mother took her shopping. My mother grounded me for the entire summer.
If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

For you, IG. You probably know all about this Twinkie cookbook, what with being mired in the midwest. But it was news to me.
Back in the early seventies, Twinkies were a mainstay of my diet. Folks would buy me boxes of Twinkies for my birthday. I addicted myself to the creamy centers and soft sugary outsides. And then Dan White murdered George Moscone and Harvey Milk and used the Twinkie Defense to reduce the charges to manslaughter and a mere six year incarceration. That ended my Twinkie affair. Hostess should have sued for indigestion.
